ONLY GIRL IN THE WORLD

Live performance and single channel video, 2013 – 2015

The artist runs a film studio, carefully measuring the space, marking scenes, and recording her figure in action. This elaborate process results in hacking found clips and glitching herself into romantic scenes from famous movies, interrupting these climactic moments of romance with her own intervention, possessing a sincerity that disarms the imposed limitations of romantic conventions in mainstream media.

Clips were sourced online and then datamoshed together by hacking video frames through open source software. Each glitch result is unique.
